Great video man. I’m a pilot for Delta, got my dream job in December last year and then a month ago hit a brick wall when I was diagnosed with hairy cell leukemia. I’m only 40. I’ve done the chemo and am currently waiting for my blood counts to come back but it’s been very hard for me because I always worked out and now I’ve lost almost 30 pounds of muscle and am staring at not knowing if I’ll ever be able to fly again. I’ve def cycled through all these emotions multiple times, hope you get back to it soon.

I need advise can you help. My dad had a brain tumor removed in feb but he is very ill know he is sick every day feels dizzy loosing mussel mass and weight I weigh more than him and I am a small guy he was a big rugby type of guy. My dad keeps saying hes dyeing. He refuses to see doctors or go to hospital. He can barley do any thing before he is tired and sleeps alot what is going on will he recover any advise would be helpful. regards.

My dad trained at Point Cook. He was a Lancaster bomber pilot in WW2 based at 186 squadron Stradishall, UK. He gave me my interest in flying from a young age. My first flight was on a DC6 Melb to Hobart in about 1960 when I was 4 - on my own!! Great to see Michael’s return - a real treat 😊.

Does your XP11 run well on your MacBook ? Is it the pro m1? I tried to install the XP12 and it’s super leggy and heavy, wonder if it’s much heavier than the XP11. So I should try the 11

The Spitfire is not just a better fighter and all round aircraft in its time it was streets ahead of anything else and the mustang never became anything till it got the Spitfire engine fitted to it.

I agree Spitfires were superior in all but one aspect... Mustang's had a much greater range... Mk lX spits would beat a Mustang in nearly everything else. However my favourite is still the Mosquito

Sad that you have to use a sim, but if you want to make your experience immersive, improvements in VR have really made sims feel realistic. X plane 11 and 12 have support for it and so does msfs.

Pilot, mountaineer, and now simmer. Next thing You'll be buying an airport or racetrack.

Point Cook is an aware base meaning it is barely an air base and only a p-51 mustang is kept there by the 100th squadron [and 4 AAFC planes] :)

Hiyazz Stef, from Eastern Canada! I know where you are coming from. I lost my pilot's medical (private and commercial) back in Jan., 2003 due 2 moderate brain injuries received from a bad wintery auto accident that almost killed me. Now, I suffered an acute clot-based stroke on the evening of Mon., Feb. 12, 2024, that has affected my right peripheral vision in both eyes but mainly my right dominant eye, and, has affected my balance somewhat. I figure now my chances of ever getting my pilot's medical back is extremely slim. I miss flying very much. I am daily reminded of what I enjoyed doing, since I live a 15 minute walk from the airport at home. I still have bouts of depression, stress, anxiety and such, mainly from the stroke. Keeping active in other activites, like work around the house, phyical exercise and hobbies, does help a lot. Thanks for sharing in what you when through and how you manage it. Thanks for the video. I hadn't noticed the "Route Planning" button in Windy before (which is skipped over in the video -- that's what brings up the VFR/IFR/etc menu). However, the really useful "weather during the flight" stuff is blurred out... you have to pay for "Premium" Windy to get it. Likewise 10-day forecasts. :(
